On Purpose
Old prompt: Write about what it means to talk, move and love with purpose.
If I left the house to ask people I met on the street, if what they do, and what they liked to do, was in tune, I bet that, in a single day, I would fill the fingers of one hand.
And it’s sad.
We are told that we can be whatever we want at school, and when we leave, we need money to live, then we need a job, and here we have two options.
Talk, move, and love with purpose,
It’s not hard, but it’s not easy either.
It’s simple, and people don’t like the simplicity,
Well…-ish.
In school they say,
You can be whatever you want.
And you can,
But there are more steps around that than you think.
If your first job don’t tune with what you love,
Or find a way to do what you love,
In tune with your work,
Or put it in a corner.
And you never move it again (until a pandemic begins).
If you start working on what you love,
Chances are you won’t start earning money right away,
