And paid the price for my gluttony.
I became Vegan in June 2019, and have been eating more natural products, however, occasionally I eat one or two slightly processed products. But during my 16 days stay in Italy, I made a rule for myself, and that rule was:
NO PROCESSED PRODUCTS!
And for the two weeks I spent on the campsite, I did everything right, I even noticed that every new year I’m healthier and healthier.
Until I arrived at the hotel while waiting for my flight back to Portugal, to spend four days.
On May 30th, I arrived at the hotel, and after rest for a while, taking a shower, I got a little hungry, so I decided to ask in the reception if there was an open place where I can buy a pizza or something like that, and they indicated one next to the hotel.
Before moving on, of the 3 pizzas I ate in Italy, the third was the best (or maybe it was because I was hungry), but it was really good. Eating pizza from far to far is not so bad, the problem was the next day.
One more thing, I’ve decided to be a Vegetarian for the next four days, until Portugal. But the breakfast was all the same.
When I was waiting for the pizza, I saw on the menu that they sold falafel, and I wanted to try the version of that small Turkish restaurant, (I know, going to Italy to eat in a Turkish restaurant is weird, but I just want to be practical, and spend less time outside because I had a Covid test to make and I really wanted to able to fly to my home country), so I decided to eat the falafel the next day.
Well, the next day came and if it was just the falafel, that was fine, the problem was what I bought more. I bought french fries and potato croquettes, also fried. Which made my body mad at me, and I paid dearly for it.
I still hadn’t had a Coke in 2021, but in 3 days I drank more than I expected to drink in a year. I knew that drinking a coke when with an indisposition, is still unhealthy, but at the same time, helps to re-regulate the system. And I also continued to drink the amount of water I drink daily (3,25 L) and finally, after a day, I managed to pay the debt before boarding the plane back to Portugal.
Don’t be greedy and just eat one, ONE thing, and less fried stuff, (or none).
